In 2021, Trinity Woods was awarded a green infrastructure grant from the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD). The MMSD grant provides the initial funding resources to employ a variety of green infrastructure types to help protect Lake Michigan by managing water where it falls. In addition to the porous pavement and bioswales, the property also uses a wide variety of deep-rooted native plants to help soak up rainwater and prevent it from running off into the local waterways and sewer system.
